Heart attacks are emergency situations that require the immediate attention of medical services. When it comes to heart rhythm problems, there are two main issues a person can have. The wire lead lead can fracture and may have been a contributing factor in the deaths. Specifically, it has shown a tendency to tear once inside the patient, which means that the shock that is sent from the main component of the device never reaches the heart.

Therefore Medtronic recalled their Sprint Fidelis leads in several months ago. These defibrillator lead recall were Sprint Fidelis 6930, Sprint Fidelis 6931, Sprint Fidelis 6948, and Sprint Fidelis 6949.
